Time Warner Cable Arena becomes first in NBA to install Ticketmaster kiosks
Bobcats Sports & Entertainment (BSE) President and Chief Operating Officer Fred Whitfield announced today the installation of two outdoor Ticketmaster transactional kiosks at Time Warner Cable Arena, with plans to install two more by the start of the 2009-10 National Basketball Association season.
The self-service kiosks are operational 24 hours-a-day for ticket sales and Will Call pick-up, and are the first of their kind at any NBA arena in North America or venue in the Carolinas. Patrons for recently sold-out concerts by the Jonas Brothers and Taylor Swift game the kiosks overwhelmingly positive reviews after using them.
“These kiosks represent another step in our effort to become more efficient as an organization while maintaining the highest levels of service for our fans and patrons," said Whitfield. “From shorter lines at the box office window to helping expedite the entry process at the door, our customers and ticket holders will be the real beneficiaries of this new technology."
Featuring touch-screen technology and a printer with instant ticket production capabilities, the Ticketmaster kiosks enable users to make advance purchases at lower than box office prices 24 hours-a-day, and pick-up tickets already purchased without standing in a Will Call line.

The two kiosks currently in operation are located on the Trade Street side of the arena, and the two additional kiosks slated for installation shortly will be located at the 5th Street exterior box office. With an average transaction time of less than three minutes, the kiosks can serve hundreds of ticket buyers on event nights at Time Warner Cable Arena and save patrons significant time with ticket purchases and pick-up.
